Arthur Moornick was a disgruntled, undedicated electrical worker at a power plant. One night while pulling a late shift, he caught his hands in an accidentally-created 4-dimensional matrix, which turned the leading edges of his fingers into white holes to another universe. Obsessed with power, he soon killed his own nagging wife Janice with his energy beams, and this pushed him over the edge into insanity.

The beams that come from his hands are white and absolutely flat; it is this paper-thin, nearly 2-dimensional flatness that allows them to pierce through armor. They produce considerable force; he uses them not only to shoot his targets, but also to propel himself into the air. By making a fanning gesture while he's projecting, he can even create a small "barrier" in front of himself that can deflect bullets and other blasts.

His "costume" is an ordinary business suit, with necktie.
