Tau Ceti III was remarkably Earthlike. It even had native organisms similar to terrestrial trees and mammals. To remember the world they'd left behind, the new neanderthal inhabitants of this alien world built a motorized monument that always pointed toward Earth.
But soon after this massive exodus, the new inhabitants of Tau Ceti III succumbed to the same warlike impulses that destroyed their ancestors. They split their official symbol, the symbol of matter (shown above), into its three components — the positive charge of the proton, the negative charge of the electron, and the neutrality of the neutron — just as they divided themselves into three nations, all enemies of one another.
Flash forward to a mere 12 years ago. Radioactive ruin had devastated the face of Tau Ceti III, and only one member of the Positive Warside remained. He was Erax Eurolomk Margnaror, heir to the prestigious symbol of the Positive Warside: a 10-centimeter-diameter circular pendant decorated with concentric rings and a sparkling disk-shaped center (the center could emit light of any frequency or intensity; the rings surrounding it were its controls). On the run, Erax entered a radioactive land and, famished from his sojourn, ate one of the odd, glowing fruits that hung from a strange native plant. The experience knocked him unconscious; when he awoke, one of the native predatory animals was about to pounce on him, and he ran away — at an unbelievably high speed.
Eager to test the limits of his new powers, he ran and ran until he had accelerated to just a hair shy of the speed of light. But having only just discovered his new godlike powers, he lacked the control to make quick course changes, and ran straight up the ancient monument that pointed toward Earth. For 12 years, he hurtled through the vacuum of interstellar space at near light speed — thankfully, the time dilation reduced the subjective duration of the trip to only a few months — until finally crashing into the Earth's atmosphere and plowing almost a mile into the crust. That he was able to run back out of the hole he'd just bored into the Earth was a testament to just how indestructable he now was.
His blood is like white-hot plasma. Like the Flash, he can vibrate so as to pass through matter — not just through solid matter, but even through the air in front of him so as not to make a sonic boom. He calls this state "transparency."
